Hi, my name is Jason Holland and I am the owner and founder of Fate State Arts. I'm a homegrown kid, born in Tacoma at TG Hospital in 1974. As the ups and downs of Tacoma life proceeded, the sincere love of friends, family, and many times neighbors, kept my heart in one place. I grew up and became the man I am today seeing how truly unique and beautiful my neighbors were and still are. After getting hurt as a professional mover a couple years back, I started thinking about what I was going to do next. Though I had always been an artist, I had never fully given in to the idea of doing it full time. (I would generally give art away to friends and family or get the occasional mural job.) Well, with the inability to do physical labor any more, I had to do something. I was going mad waiting to heal knowing I could never go back to physical labor as a source of regular income. So I was suddenly forced into doing something I had always loved doing anyway and was once more reminded of the love of my town while getting the opportunity to paint a mural on the side of a local business during Art On The Ave. I cherished the idea of getting a public art piece! Along with all of the love and positive responses that came from those long time neighbors, my heart crumbled . I finally realized that this is what I was meant to have been doing the past 40 years. This collection of designs and art is a reflection of that love. I hope you enjoy!
The name of my company is not only a play on words with the title of "City of Destiny", but it's also a way of being, a way of life, it's doing what you were meant to do.
It's all about living in your fate state.
